RIO DE JANEIRO — One of the most popular TV series in world history, ‘The Simpsons,’ won a nod on Boqueirao Beach in Santos, on the Sao Paulo coast this week. Artist Carlos Primo, 31, created a sand sculpture portraying Homer Simpson and his family, including the dog ‘Santa’s Little Helper’ and cat ‘Snowball II.’
Carlos began the sculpture last Monday and finished it Wednesday. “I started carving Monday, around noon. For a sculpture like this, it usually takes me about a day and a half to finish. Then the rains came, and I fumbled a bit and then had to wait,” the master sculptor told G1 in Santos.
The renowned sculptor, who has won many prizes for his work, uses only toothpicks, ice cream sticks, sand and water to create his masterpieces. “Using toothpicks, sand water and a little creativity,” says Carlos.
