If you listen to top 40’s  radio, you all ready know- she’s in the fast lane from LA to Toyko.

 How fast? Iggy (born) Amethyst Amelia Kelly has made history by simultaneously snagging both the number one and two spots on The Billboard Top 100, making her the first artist to do so since  The Beatles way back in 64.

The 24 year old started rapping  when she was 14.  A fan of hip hop, she wanted to move to America.  She says, she was  drawn to America because she felt like an outsider in my own country, I was in love with hip hop, and America is the birthplace of that, so I figured the closer I was to the music, the happier I’d be. I was right.”

Iggy  moved to around in the US  and eventually settled in Atlanta.  She took her stage name from the name of her childhood dog, Iggy, and the street she grew up on, Azalea Street in Mullumbimby ,New South Wales, , where her family lives to this day. She said people would laugh at her because “they thought my raps sucked.” But having grown up getting laughed at, she was able to shrug it of.

 

Today she is burning up the airways, she is currently in phase 2 of her “New Classic Tour”.
