If you’d told me tonight I’d be listening to Lady Gaga sing The Sound of Music, I’da told you to put the crackpipe down. #girlcansingthough!Karen Walrond

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of iconic musical The Sound of Music, Lady Gaga gave a powerful rendition of the titular theme song, and a mash-up performance of the film’s score. The popstar, known for her avant garde fashion sense and larger-than-life stage persona, reminded an international audience that she is first and foremost an incredibly talented vocalist.  Freya Drohan: Irish Independent

Gaga Beyond Limits

We live in a era of autotune and carefully crafted performers who can’t perform outside the studio.  A few years ago I saw Lady Gaga sit down at a piano on “The View” and blew the audience away.

Sorry Kate Perry, Beyonc’e, and quite a few performers. Gaga is the real thing.  She a singer who can sit down and sing, without the trappings of background singers and dancers.

I wandered what effect  the collaboration with Tony Bennett had on her “Monsters’ her core audience.   Apparently last night, her core, cause a spike in the telecast last night via Twitter.
