This is Susana Martinez, she is the first Hispanic female Governor ever elected in the United States. She is currently Governor of the State of New Mexico. She is also a Republican. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that 47.0% of the total 2012 population was Hispanic or Latino of any race, the highest of any state.
New Mexico also has the highest number of Hispanics in office.
There are many Republicans who simply can’t get behind the presumptive presidential nominee and Governor Martinez is one of them. Last week in Albuquerque, D.T. took a few swipes at the Governor who seems to be very popular in her state AND she also happens to be the chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association.
Conventional wisdom says despite her position he should have schmoozed the Governor. But D.T is at odds with conventional wisdom. He chastised Republican Gov. Susana Martinez for not doing her job when it came to unemployment, federal food aid and even containing the Syrian refugee crisis while he stumped at a raucous political rally this week in the nation’s most Hispanic state. Martinez, who has not endorsed the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, skipped the event in Albuquerque, citing a busy schedule.
Key Republicans rushed to Martinez’s defense, including U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio..
“Susana Martinez is a great governor, she turned deficits into surpluses, she cut taxes,” Ryan told reporters this week.
Bush tweeted that Martinez is “the future of our party,” and Walker said Martinez had driven conservative reforms in a state that President Barack Obama won twice.
D.T described New Mexico as a state beset by unemployment and rising dependence on federal food assistance, placing the blame squarely on Martinez.
“Your governor has got to do a better job,” D.T said. “She’s not doing the job. Hey, maybe I’ll run for governor of New Mexico. I’ll get this place going.”
D.T has vowed to return to New Mexico before the general election and win a state where Democrats account for 47 percent of registered voters.
A Few Days Later
As protesters were outside the San Diego Convention Center. D.T attacked a local federal judge, Gonzalo Curiel ,who is hearing a class -action lawsuit against Trump University this fall.
Inside the convention center D.T. delivered a lengthy monologue about the years-old case involving students who claim they were defrauded by Trump’s real estate “university.” He delved so deeply into details of the case — at one point, he talked about the origin of the name of the law firm representing him — that he seemed to lose the attention of his crowd.
Trump leveled a series of blows against Curiel. He called him “a hater of D.T.” and “very hostile” person who had “railroaded” him. He then taunted the judge, who has scheduled a trial for late November, after the election.
“I’ll be seeing you in November, either as president…” Trump said, trailing off. “I think Judge Curiel should be ashamed of himself. I think it’s a disgrace that he’s doing this.”
“The judge, who happens to be, we believe, Mexican…
which is great. I think that’s fine,” said. D.T. “I think the Mexicans are going to end up loving Donald Trump,” he later added, according to the Washington Post.
November, Not Soon Enough!
Many want off this ride, that seems to go on and on. D.T. delusions grow wider by the hour. In Fresno, he told the audience there . There isn’t a drought.
There are many who believe only Mexicans are protesting against D.T. and those who are protesting are probably illegal, reinforcing the need for a wall. There are some people incensed by images of the Mexican flag. Radio talk show host, Dr Laura, made a quick comment about those images on her Sirrus show, saying she knows who she is voting for.
The truth is, if you look closely you will see many black, and white protesters.
D.T. unfortunate comments about “Those Mexicans” resonated with Black voters. As one man put it, I’m sure he calls African Americans,Nigger, when he is in his circle. “Were not fools.”
November, seems like years instead of months. I cant remember a time like this in America. The choices are few Hillary or Hitler. If you vote or a third party candidate we may have Hitler.
Hitler, sounds extreme and perhaps cruel. The reality is we have a candidate who couldn’t pick a Muslim in a lineup and yet he wants to keep them from coming into the country. He and few like him would like to deport 11 million taxpayers. A president who is capable of insulting the families, of our Allies in a tweet.
