Megyn Kelly: Epic Failure for NBC


Megyn Kelly's new show debuting in the 9am Today show slot to be dubbed Megyn Kelly Today

 

For nearly thirteen years she was a shining star at Fox News.  A well respected journalist, political commentator and attorney.   Kelly received worldwide attention after a series of attacks by Presidential Candidate Donald Trump after she asked him about his attacks on women during Republican Presidential Debate where she was the moderator.

With her contract ending at Fox News, Kelly signed with NBC.

By  appearances, Kelly was being developed to be NBC’s Barbara Walters, where she would host an evening news show, a daytime show and take part in major interviews and be involved with the networks major news event coverage.

“Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly” Premiered in June.  Sunday Night started strong, with 6 million viewers, against CBS’s mighty 60 Minutes and ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos.  It lost nearly half its audience the following week.  She show ended after 8 episodes.  It is unclear if the show will return in the spring.

NBC’s Today Show has been on the air for more than sixty years.  Today began as a two hours show in 2000 the show was expanded to four hours.

Sept 25,2017 ” Megyn Kelly Today” premiered The shows 3rd hour. Replacing Al Rokur and Tamron Hall.   Kelly has received poor notices and is noticeably struggling in this format.

Page Six says, Kelly’s hour of Today is down 32 percent.  Her rating are also affecting the fourth hour of  Today’s Kathie Lee and Hoda down 26 percent.
