Nearly every housewives franchise has a love story. In Atlanta, it is Nene and Gregg Leaks. We’ve been through there divorce and we’ve seen them return in a wedding for the gods.
I have a love and hate affair with Nene, she has the fastest tongue in Atlanta and is funny as Hell. Then there are moments where she is cu-cu for Coco-puffs and moments of great insight and caring.
The scene opens with Nene bringing a giant bowl of pills for Gregg. Last year, Gregg had issues with his heart and the doctors were successful. When he returned to the hospital with stomach pains, he was diagnosed with stage-3 colon cancer. In the scene we see him with family and friends. “When they cut my colon out, my heart got bigger,” Gregg says. Typical old corny Gregg. Nene of course rolls her eyes at him, but we hear her say “I put on a brave face, but I have my moments. If my car could talk, my car would probably be like, This bitch cries too much.” She’s back, baby!

Porsha, Porsha, Porsha
Porsha is thick and wider bodied, in a good way. You could show a double feature on dat ass. She’s got a new man, and she tells us “The power of the tongue is real,” Her man is Dennis McKinley who owns and operates a Hukkah lounge and a hot dog restaurant. They’ve been seeing each other for five months and talking engagement slash marriage. Yes, five months!!!
We see them shopping for diamonds rings from 6 karats to 10 karats (and $145,000 to $552,000). While I smell some on camera fronting from the Hot Dog king. Miss Porsha isn’t worried about the price tag BECAUSE Dennis is “the boss of Atlanta.” Porsha is as giddy as a second time bride could be. She and Nene has mended their friendship. Nene is working in Miami and Porsha, wants the other housewives to join her has a surprise.
Cynthia Bailey
Has a new man, who works for Fox Sports in L.A. Cynthia lets us know the new man has swam in the cool and refreshing waters of Lake Bailey several times.
Nene’s ‘SWAG”
Boutique seems to be a little K-Mart-ish filled with too much clothes and not enough customers. Porsha tries on an outfit so loud it could be seen by passengers on a Southwest Jet at 35,000 feet. Her twerking assets makes Nene laugh. Lets hope she paid retail.
Eva
Eva is engaged and a wedding is soon. We see several professional shots of her children and boyfriend. She’s beautiful, but is there something there, there ?
Kandi
We see Kandi with members of Xscape receiving a Golden Note Award. The award was by the America Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. They brought the baby (Ace) with them, who was cranky because it was past his bedtime. Papa Todd, gave Ace to Don Juan to care for while he was at the bar.
At dinner, with the entire Burruss/Tucker clan. Kandi tossed around the idea of expanding the family. (she has unused eggs in the freezer) There is something in the Burruss blood because ,Kandi’ daughter Riley told her in a mono no-nonsense tone. No! you don’t need no more children cause you barely have time for the children you have!! Shy Riley, has a bit of her Grandmother “Mama Joyce” and her aunts Bertha and Nora. Kandi can be a bit dull at times, I hope we get to see the Old lady gang this season.
Eva Marcille and Shamari DeVoe who was the lead singer of Blaque and wife of Ronnie (New Edition and Bell Biv-Devoe) are the newest peach holders in Atlanta.
Next week,we will get our first real taste of drama….
