I’m not a Democrat or Republican.
I’m gonna try not to bore you by repeating the statements and arguments of the last few months, the lines have been drawn.
President Trump’s Ukrainian adventure benefited Donald Trump.
The vast majority of the witnesses who have testified, were appointed by the Trump Administration.
The majority of blocked (Executive Privilege) witnesses are Trump appointees.
While Trump denies any wrong doing, his Attorneys led by Alan Dershowitz said he did do it, but so what!
The Republican Party has become the Trump party. Membership requires members to be loyal to Trump. Expectations of Loyalty is not realistic.
While Trump has most of the GOP electorate on lock. Many members of the House and Senate are troubled by the President polices and the gutting of what was once known as the Republican Party.
Going against this popular President could damage or end a career in politics.
So many wince, to live another day.
I believe, when Adam Schiff spoke last week. He speaking directly to the conscious of the Republican Senate. I believe he was saying ,you know this wrong.
“You can’t trust this president to do the right thing, not for one minute, not for one election, not for the sake of our country. You just can’t. He will not change and you know it.”
He went on say “History will not be kind to Donald Trump,”
The other question is will History be kind to the Republican Senate who voted to keep Trump in office? How will members can explain what they did, knowing what they knew? With the majority of the nation including some members of the Republican Party wanting witnesses, how will they spin their decision?
There was a glimmer of hope, when four Republican senators considered joining the Democrats to demand witnesses.
These are dark times for America and darker times if your a Conservative Republican. Individuals who have spent years fighting for an ideology that has been largely dismantled by a self adsorbed President.
American needs a Hero, it needs someone, who will place country before party. If twenty Republicans stood together, it might change the course of America. If they all stood together, they would permanently rid its party of a cancerous tumor. But that’s my fantasy.
America needs a Hero, from the Republican Party. Not a retiring politician, but one who will be their next week and week after. Change often starts with one voice….
