he wasn’t a terrorist because he was an American…dah!

This was one of the answers on social media to why Stephen Paddock isn’t a terrorist.  After killing 59 people and injuring nearly 600 others in Las Vegas.

Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov is a terrorist after killing 8 people and injuring 15 others in New York.  For many his crime is more heinous because he is foreign and from one of those countries  AND he gets 10 bonus points if he says he is a member of Isis.

The Don said, extreme vetting (gun control) wouldn’t have mattered in Texas because the shooting ” was a result of mental health”.  Perhaps the Don could benefit from some mental health treatment. BECAUSE many states do not have a provision that prevents someone with  mental issues from buying a GUN!

What is it?

Is it easier to accept an acts of terror if the terror is perpetrated by a non European?

Terrorist acts at abortion clinics were justified because the terrorist did what he did because of his religions passion.   He was saving babies when he killed those five people.

45 wants to limit people coming into this country from CERTAIN countries.  A gentleman on a cable news show defended 45’s position.   The fact that his was RADICALIZED in America, was ignored.   When asked, should we vet people who’s profile fits the Las Vegas shooter ( Terrorist) he said that wouldn’t work here.

If someone killed someone you knew, your not likely to say he/she was emotional, passionate, or out of control!

Image result for stupidity is real it will always be with us

Never!

People get into lengthy passionate and sometimes hate fill speech .  I’ve never understood it.  These are strangers people I’m not likely to meet. I’m not going to change an opinion or belief.   So I’m arguing Y?

Duh!

In a perfect world.  The overwhelming majority of NRA members who support gun control and the elimination of Automatic Machine Guns would withhold their dues until NRA changes their position.

Image result for sexual harassment

October 5, the New York Times Published a blistering report detailing nearly 30 years of reports by women accusing the Oscar-winning movie producer of sexual harassment. They reveal he has paid out at least eight settlements.

Sexual harassment has long been a part of the culture in Hollywood.  Some members in the industry exploiting individuals who relocated to work in Hollywood.

What makes the Weinstein Wind unique, is the dismissal of studio heads.  Harvey Weinstein  was fired from the company that bears his name.  High profile individuals are being terminated.  This are just some of the names from Oct 5th and Nov 1,2017

October 6th,  Defy Media announced that it was suspending Screen Junkies creator Andy Signore following allegations of sexual harassment from at least five women . He was fired on October 8th.

On October 12th ,Producer Isa Hackett accused Amazon Studios Chief Roy Price of harassing her in a cab during San Diego Comic-Con in 2015. Hackett says Price propositioned her and told her, “You will love my dick.   Price resigned October 17th.

Rick Najera a writer and producer who spent 13 years heading up CBS’s network’s annual Diversity Sketch Comedy showcase. In 2009 and 2004 Najera made inappropriate comments and while the network became aware of the comments in March of this year.  CBS officially severed ties with Najera on the 26th.

In 2001, stage and screen actor Anthony Rapp told The Advocate of an incident that took place when he was 14.  When a well know actor picked him up and took him to his bed and climbed on top of  him.  In 2001 he did not identify the actor.  On October 29th, Anthony Rapp  told Buzzfeed the actor who attempted to assault him was Kevin Spacey.   He came forward because of  the people who have come forward with their own stories of sexual harassment. Spacey said ,he didn’t recall the incident and apologized  and announced he was gay.  Within Hours, Netflix cancelled his series “House of Cards” The show was already due to end after this season, but production is now suspended “until further notice”.Spacey has also been dropped as the recipient of a special Emmy award he was due to receive next month. The International TV Academy said in a statement that it was withdrawing the International Emmy Founders Award “in light of recent events”.

More Spacey Controversy

The BBC News has uncovered more allegations of sexual misconduct.

US filmmaker Tony Montana claims he was gropeFilm director Montana told Radar Online that he was in his thirties when the incident took place at the Coronet Bar in LA. by the actor in a Los Angeles bar in 2003.  Montana says he was left with PTSD for six months after he claims Spacey “forcefully” grabbed his crotch.

Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos, who acted in several plays at the theater, claims Spacey “routinely preyed” on young male actors. “It seems the only requirement was to be a male under the age of 30 for Mr Spacey to feel free to touch us,” he wrote in a Facebook post.  He said he fended off two “unpleasant” advances from Spacey that “bordered on harassment,” but that others were afraid to do so. “There are a lot of us who have a ‘Kevin Spacey story’,” says Cavazos.

October 31, Michael Oreskes  The head of National Public Radio’s news department was placed on leave Tuesday after he was accused of sexual harassment by two women who claimed he made unwanted advances toward them while he worked at the New York Times nearly 20 years ago.

November 1, Six women, including actress Olivia Munn, accused director and producer Brett Ratner of sexual harassment or misconduct in a wide-ranging Los Angeles Times report. TV and film actress Natasha Henstridge told the Times that when she was 19 years old, Ratner forced her to perform oral sex on him after a party. “He physically forced himself on me,” she recalled. “At some point, I gave in and he did his thing.” Munn separately recounted Ratner masturbating in front of her in a film-set trailer and later sexually harassing her with verbal come-ons. “It feels as if I keep going up against the same bully at school who just won’t quit,” Munn told the Times. “You just hope that enough people believe the truth and for enough time to pass so that you can’t be connected to him anymore.” Four other women recalled incidents in which Ratner made aggressive sexual overtures, including propositioning for sex in a bathroom or his trailer. Ratner, through a lawyer, denied all of the claims.

The Weinstein wind sweeps up Kevin Spacey. Other men are slow to come forward.

Anthony Rapp

Hollywood is shaken and stirred .The Harvey Weinstein blow back ,is REAL!

The latest person to come forward is stage and screen star Anthony Rapp.  Some might know him from several films including “Rent” Rapp is currently starring in CBS’s “Star Trek Discovery”

A few days ago Anthony Rapp alleged in an interview with  BuzzFeed that actor Kevin Spacey picked him up, put him on his bed and “was trying to get with me sexually”   back in 1986, when Rapp was 14 years old. Rapp added that one day he met with a lawyer to discuss possible legal action, who told him there was no case worth pursuing.

This is significant statement. Sexual harassment has been a part of Hollywood since its inception.  If you worked in Hollywood the sexual maze is just one of the obstacles.  Its a small community.    Many agents, managers, sent clients on meetings with known sexual predators, known pedophiles  hoping for the best.  If your an attorney and want to continue to work in Hollywood, you look away.  A complaint against a successful, actor, director, screenwriter, casting agent, could limit his ability to earn in Hollywood.

Today, there are many in Hollywood, fearful of  retribution.  Many are in a holding mode, waiting to see if what blow back if any. those who came forward may face .

In response, to Anthony Rapp  accounting.  Spacey said he didn’t remember the encounter, given the incident was alleged to have occurred 30 years ago, but added… “if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior …   This was followed by an earth shattering  announcement.  Like Ricky Martin’s and Barry Manilow , Kevin Spacey tells the world he is gay man.

2pm Monday October 30, 2017. Netflix Cancelled Kevin Spacey’s “House of Cards”

Male victims of sexual harassment are slow to speak

Terry Crews tweeted about his fear of being – quote, unquote – “ostracized” if he pursued any further action against an executive that he said groped him last year. James Van Der Beek – when he said he’d been groped many times as a young actor, tweeted that, quote, “there’s a power dynamic that feels impossible to overcome.”

Male victims, like female victims felt like, if I speak up, then I’m going to pay the price for this.

Is the public ready to hear Corey Feldman?

Corey Feldman and Todd Bridges tales of rape of molestation was downplayed many years ago .  Both were on a downward spiral and perhaps were dismissed by many because of their documented issues of substance abuse. Corey Feldman told the Hollywood Reporter that he and Corey Haim were repeatedly molested as child stars.  Todd Bridges of Different Strokes fame said he was molested by his male publicist when he was 11.

As recently as 2016, Feldman  testified to The Hollywood reporter that he and Corey Haim were repeatedly molested as child stars.

“All these men were all friends,” Feldman said of the perpetrators. “Ask anybody from our group of kids at that time. They were passing us back and forth to each other.”

Feldman has said Haim’s experience was worse. “He had more direct abuse than I did,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “With me, there were some molestations, and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey, his was direct rape.”

In his book, Feldman writes that Haim was raped at age 11 on the set of the 1986 film “Lucas,” which co-starred up-and-comers Charlie Sheen and Winona Ryder.

“The man who had stolen his innocence,” Feldman writes, “ . . . walks around now, one of the most successful people in the entertainment industry, still making money hand over fist.”

For legal reasons, Feldman says he cannot name names. “Unfortunately California conveniently enough has a statute of limitations that prevents that from happening,”

Today, in light of the Weinstein wind, he says he will name, names. However he needs to raise 10 million dollars where he would name names in the movie.

No Movies About Pedophilia in Hollywood

In 2014, director Amy Berg struggled to find distribution for “An Open Secret,” her documentary about rampant pedophilia in Hollywood. For her 2006 doc “Deliver Us From Evil,” uncovering the very same crimes in the Catholic Church, Berg won an Oscar nomination.

In 2014, SAG-AFTRA threatened to sue Berg over “An Open Secret” unless she cut all references to the union’s Young Performers Committee, along with most of her interview with one of Hollywood’s most vocal watchdogs. It’s clear why SAG-AFTRA was alarmed: In her doc, Berg reveals that convicted child molesters still openly work in Hollywood, with children, today.

Berg stood up to SAG-AFTRA, but unsurprisingly, her film never gained traction — no streaming service, no cable outlet would pick it up. “An Open Secret” — a pirated, pre-commercial version — appeared on YouTube, where it has since racked up over one million views.

Jeff Bezos CEO of Amazon and other Business Leaders could change U.S Gun Control Laws

Image result for jeff bezos amazon

Contrary to popular opinion, the majority of Republicans support tightening gun laws.

In an Oct 2017 Quinnipiac poll ,conducted after the Las Vegas Massacre. Sixty percent of Americans supported tightening of Gun Laws. 36 percent opposed.  73 percent supported a ban of devices that allow owners of semi-automatic rifles to mimic fully Automatic rifles.(Bump Stops)

A majority of voters who identify as Republican — 62 percent — said that such gun modifications should be banned. An even greater percentage of voters who live in households where there is a gun favor outlawing the devices.

Background checks have wide support among Americans at 94 percent, the Quinnipiac poll found. Even among those in gun-owning households, 93 percent are in favor of background checks.

Nearly two-thirds of respondents say they support a ban on the sale of assault weapons, as well as a prohibition on the sale of high-capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. *

Not much has changed since the Sandy Hook Massacre in 2012, where 20 six year old students were killed by a lone gunman with an automatic rifle.  Before 2012,  the majority of Americans supported Gun Control.

After Sandy Hook, many states have weakened gun control laws.  Reducing or eliminating background checks. In some states, individuals with mental conditions and have used a firearms in a domestic dispute are legally allowed to purchase a firearm.

A block of Senators (56) from states were gun ownership is high, have routinely voted against every piece of gun control legislation proposed.

There have been several massacres since Sandy Hook, involving Automatic Rifles.

Those opposed to gun control believe limiting one gun, opens the door for the eventual elimination of all guns.

“Based on the inaction’s of our elected, nothing is likely to change”

With one exception Business

Amazon is looking to open a second Headquarters.  Amazon has promised to invest $5 billion into the local economy and will eventually will create as many as 50,000 jobs.  Cities from Coast to Coast are clamoring to get this prize of the largest Internet Retailer in the World.

It would be a boon to Mega Cities like New York and Los Angeles and a game changer for cities like Des Moines and Sacramento.   Cities from coast to coast are competing for Amazon’s attention.

What would get the attention of states with liberal gun control laws is Business publicly avoiding those cities.   Business effectively changed Transgender Bathroom Laws in North Carolina, many companies have avoid states who are unfriend to the LGBT community including the NBA who moved relocated the coveted all star weekend from Charlotte to New Orleans.  Losing the weekend  resulted in a 60 million dollar loss to Charlotte and surrounding area.

It isn’t a perfect world, in California, the weapons used in San Bernardino Massacre  in 2015, were legal when they were purchase. however, the modification made to the firearms were illegal .

In California if you are convicted of possessing an Assault style firearm you can receive one to three years in Jail and a fine from $1000, to 10,000.  If you are accused of using the assault weapon or .50 BMG rifle, you face an additional and consecutive three to ten-year state prison sentence.

The reality is, the public and their employees are in danger in a state that has virtually no gun control law and allows the sale of firearms who only purpose is mass destruction.  It may be problematic attracting talent  and intimidating to Amazon employees who have transferred to state like Texas where open carry is permitted.

Business could effectively change gun laws and save lives.  The issue is not to take guns away, from hunters. homeowners, and gun fans.  It is simply to remove one type of gun, a gun that’s not used for hunting in Montana or Vermont.

Jeff Bezos and other business leaders would join the majority of Americans who want gun control and the removal of Assault weapons. The impact of Amazon and other major companies rejecting cities in states without waiting periods and sufficient background checks gun control would have a major impact.  Mr Bezos, are you listening?

Las Vegas: The United States of Hypocrisy

171004-steven-paddock-financials-portrait

Monday morning most Americans woke up to news of the horror in Las Vegas.  One man with an automatic rifle killing nearly 60 people and wounding hundreds more.

Oh, God! Dont let him be……..

For millions of Americans, there was a sigh of relief for Mexicans, Muslims and other black\brown skinned Americans. The killer was white and possibly christian.

This weekend, were not likely to see an increase of attacks on Mosque’s in America.  Not likely to see an increase of harassment of brown, black people and there wont be random attacks on Caucasians because of the actions Stephen Paddock a 64 year old white man living in a senior community in Nevada.

American Made Terror

The attack in Las Vegas was beyond horrific   It will be years or decades for the families of the victims of this attack to recover.  The attack has forever altered the lives of the people attending that concert, and for the rest of us altered our sense of safety at a concert.  As the attack at the theater in Aurora, Colorado has changed mine.

Many Americans believe Muslin’s are a danger to America, believe that Black Americans are inherently criminals  dangerous and must be handled differently by the police then White Americans and was recently told by Our President, that some Mexicans are prone to do bad things. Who are the some?

I love my country ,it is deeply flawed.  In principle, we should be treated the same.  Implausible as it seems too many, there were a few blacks, Mexicans and Muslims at that concert who like country music.   Americans

I once, had a boss who saw me reach into my pocket and put seven cents into my drawer to make it balance.    I should write you up she said!  What if you were a dollar short, would you take a dollar out of your pocket?  What if it were over?  The woman went into hyperspace, what it it were twenty five dollars? I mean, where would it end?

It was difficult, but I kept my composure and my job.  But in my head I was thinking Jeez its seven fucking cents!

Some extreme gun owners believe, banning a rapid fire machine gun capable of extinguishing the lives hundreds and forever altering the lives of the survivors would be the beginning of the end of gun ownership in America.  Liberals and politicians would eventually take their pistols, rifles, shotguns and their seven cents.

Stop Being Silly!
