A bride was surprised to learn that one of her wedding guests had decided to help themselves to more than their share of food

One of the highlights of attending someone else’s wedding  is that there’s likely to be some pretty decent free food going around.

Be it a full meal at the reception or a buffet served later on in the evening – and let’s not forget about the cake!

But of course, as with any event, when loading up your plate, you’ve got to be respectful of everyone else and make sure there’s enough for others.

One guest clearly didn’t get the memo about this however and instead they decided to take as much as they could – and even filled up 10 Tupperware containers to take home and enjoy later.

A shocked bride shared a tale about this happening on Facebook.

Posted in a wedding shaming group, the unnamed woman explained that the guest who committed the rude act wasn’t even someone who had initially been invited to the big day.

She said: “My husband and I had a very small wedding ceremony and reception, probably about 25 people were invited. Only close family and a handful of friends.

“I invited my dad’s bff, so he’d have someone to socialize with, other than my mom, plus his friend has always been good to me.

She continued on to say that a few days before the wedding, her dad’s friend asked if it would also be ok if his daughter and husband came along as well.

The bride agreed, but then on the day, things got weird.

“So she shows up, without her husband, but with about 10 Tupperware containers. TO TAKE FOOD.

“We had a buffet style wedding (I’m Polish in Western PA and it’s kinda tradition in our area) and we had a cookie table (look it up – also a tradition, and amazing). She loaded up seven containers with food to take home, took about three containers of homemade cookies, a couple of bottles of beer and most of the centerpieces.”

The bride didn’t notice that this was going on at the time as she was too busy enjoying her wedding – but her father watched it all happen.

She added: “My dad told me about it the next day. And when we opened up our ‘gift’ from her – she gave us $5. Not even kidding. A five dollar bill.

“Before anyone asks, she’s not poor by any stretch of the imagination. She’s probably better off than I am, and I’m assuming it’s because she just freeloads from anyone and everyone she can! But seriously! Who tf does this?”

Hundreds of people commented on her post, sharing their thoughts on the situation, with many branding it “tacky” and “rude”.

One said: “Your dad should have said no firmly and never told you about it.”

Another wrote: “You should send her a bill for the centerpieces and food she took. If she doesn’t pay you, small claims. Also, shame her publicly.”

A third added: “That’s so gross. How did not a single person think to mention it to you or tell her wtf. My mom would have been over there telling her off lol.”

Summer Wedding Crisis: What To Do When Your Ex Attends

Therapist Rachel Sussman has 8 tips on how to handle the situation at a wedding.

Wedding season is coming up. If you and your ex were very good friends with any of the brides in your life, there’s a chance that you’ll bump into him.

Here are some of Rachel’s expert tips for avoiding a painful run-in with your ex at a wedding include:

1. Discuss the tricky situation with the bride. Tell her that you do want to attend and request that you not be seated anywhere near your ex.

2. If you have been invited with a plus one, and you’re not dating anyone, consider bringing a friend (male or female, gay or straight) to the wedding to provide support.

3. If you are attending alone, find out in advance who else will be attending that you may know. Contact a few of those people, explain the situation to them, and then ask them to provide support.

4. Prepare yourself. Think through the event and what could possibly go wrong.

5. Always take the high road and behave with class.

6. Be careful with alcohol.

7. Don’t go out of your way to say hello, but if he seeks you out to greet you, respond gracefully. Keep it light and polite.

8. Make sure you look fabulous. Looking great is the very best revenge.

I gave birth to a baby boy on my wedding day.. and still went to the reception

Even when on the morning of her wedding, Danielle woke up with contractions she decided to carry on with her big day

They say getting married and giving birth are the two most magical events in a woman’s life.

Danielle Clewlow managed them both in one day… having a 7lb 7oz baby boy a few hours after saying her vows.

Danielle, 19, and new husband Aaron, 25, even made it back from hospital in time for their evening reception, where they showed off their newborn.

Cuddling Paddy, proud Danielle said: “I had such a big bump that friends and family joked I could give birth on my wedding day.

“But even when I nipped to the hospital before the reception in the evening, I don’t think anyone thought it would actually happen.

“Guests were amazed when a few hours later we turned up to show off our baby.”

Tying the knot: Heavily pregnant Danielle and Aaron exchange vows

When Danielle and car salesman Aaron booked their register office wedding they were confident that, although she would be 38 weeks pregnant, she would not give birth on the day.

Danielle, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, who has another son, Keaton, aged one, said: “Keaton was a day late so it never occurred to us our second baby could be early.”

Even when on the morning of her wedding, Danielle woke up with contractions she decided to carry on with her big day.

She said: “We’d invited 50 guests and I’d managed to find a beautiful long white wedding dress to accommodate my big bump. The register office and our reception at a local pub were booked and a wedding cake and buffet had been prepared. So after all that I was determined to marry.”

Her contractions carried on throughout the morning and, as she and Aaron said their vows at 2pm, the pains were getting stronger and stronger. Danielle said: “Fortunately, we didn’t have to stop but some guests could tell when I was having a particularly painful contraction by my face.”

She managed to smile for photos as she and Aaron signed the register, then they went to the wedding breakfast.

But at 5.30pm, as the evening do was getting under way, she decided to go to hospital. Aaron drove her there… and she gave birth to Paddy at 6.27pm. She said: “I was so relieved I’d got there in time. I had no idea how close I came to having Paddy at the reception.”

Then at 10pm the couple went back to the reception with their baby.

“Our wedding cake had a little newborn in icing on it,” said Danielle. “Everyone was so thrilled to see us.

“Becoming a Mrs and a mum of two on the same day was fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding present.”

Worst Wedding Guest Ever: Attacks Bride, Dances with Groom, Leaves in Cop Car

File under: “Things Not to Do at a Wedding.” Or perhaps more accurately, “People Never to Invite to a Wedding in the First Place.”

bad wedding guest

My best friend just celebrated her second anniversary and I still haven’t gotten her a weddingpresent. I am the worst friend – or so I thought, until I read this headline: “Drunk Ohio Woman Brooke Burke Arrested: Slow Dances With Groom, Assaults Bride and Officer.”

If you ever feel guilty about a forgotten wedding gift, remind yourself of the tale of Brooke Burke, the worst wedding guest ever . According to ABC News, the Ohio wedding guest’s antics were so bad she left the reception in handcuffs.

It all started when Brooke allegedly refused to stop slow dancing “inappropriately” with the groom. When the bride cut in, Brooke protested a little too much, according to the police report. Screaming, and attempts to swing at the bride, ensued. The argument whipped like a wedding tornado through the reception. A pregnant guest was reportedly pushed by Brooke in the melee. Belligerent screams from the guest from hell got so loud, it caught the attention of a nearby off-duty cop named Dan Kuack. He overheard Brooke arguing with two male guests who’d taken away her car keys.

So the torrentially intoxicated guest waited for a cab in the reception hall, only to end up starting another fight with the bride. Brooke had to be restrained by fellow guest. When Kuack, the off-duty cop, arrived on the scene and tried to intervene, she allegedly attacked him too.

According to the police report, she was “kicking and screaming and being belligerent” and later “struck [Kuack] in the face several times.” That’s when backup was called in. Cue police sirens and flashing red lights invading the once picturesque reception hall. In lieu of party favors, guests were encouraged to give statements to the police about the incident.

Brooke was charged with assault and intoxicated disorderly conduct. By her own admission, it was all booze’s fault. Next week she’s expected to explain her actions before a judge, who might be far more lenient than the bride. Let this be a warning to all future brides who feel slighted by their bridesmaid’s lack of enthusiasm for planning shower games and buying hideous dresses: it could be so much worse.
